Fire-insulated Chemical Storage Cabinet – Top Cabinet
Description
JiWa fire-insulated chemical storage cabinets for storing flammable substances, CMR substances and toxic chemicals.
The cabinets have been tested by the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute with regard to ventilation, making them an excellent choice for storing CMR substances and other toxic chemicals. Models G2004B and G2006B with insulated rear panels have been tested in accordance with SP Method 2369 against external fire and met the requirements for Class 1 (the same external fire test used for cabinets for flammable goods in retail premises with glass doors).
JiWa fire-insulated chemical storage cabinets have adjustable shelves with raised edges and sealed corners to prevent runoff in the event of a spill. These fire cabinets can also be fitted with a spill containment tray when storing larger containers. The cabinet is equipped with a ventilation duct with extraction points so that the space between all shelves is ventilated. Ø100 mm extract-air connection on the cabinet roof.
When storing less than 500 litres of flammable goods with a flash point of 30 °C or lower within the fire compartment, these chemical storage cabinets are an excellent choice.
For larger quantities of flammable goods, or in sensitive environments such as laboratories or hospitals, see our fire-rated chemical storage cabinets F30, F60 or F90. Our chemical storage cabinets collection page provides an overview of the available options.
Spill containment:
The bunded area must be able to contain at least 10% of the total stored volume, but always at least the volume of the largest container (MSBFS 2023:2).
Ventilation:
AFS 2023:10 30§: Storage cabinets must have mechanical ventilation where
hazardous gases or vapours may be released from the containers.
SP (Technical Research Institute of Sweden) tests:
– The cabinet has been tested for through-ventilation and to ensure that chemical vapours cannot leak out. SP report 96E21227a.
– Models G2004B and G2006B with insulated rear panels have been tested for external fire in accordance with SP Method 2369. No internal fire test has been carried out because the cabinet is not equipped with door closers. SP report 98B1,0718 rev.
– The cabinets have been tested for safety, strength, durability and stability in accordance with EN 16121, EN 14073-2 and EN 14074
– Strength of moving parts in accordance with SS-EN 14074:2004
– Determination of strength and durability ISO 7170:2005
– Workmanship in accordance with SS83 90 30, edition 3
– Meets Möbelfakta’s extra-high requirements for surface resistance
